Certification Exams
FE (Fundamentals of Engineering)
T he Fundamentals of Engineering exam, under the auspices of the National Council of Examiners for Engineering and Surveying (NCEES) and administered by Engineering and Land Surveying Examination Services (ELSES), is a twice-yearly engineering competency exam required of engineering majors at the end of their program as a step toward professional licensure. Cost: $135
Where: Administered in the Engineering Building unless otherwise specified on your admissions ticket.
Scores: Typically availiable within 12 weeks after the exam date.
Note: Registration deadlines are more than 7 weeks in advance.

PRAXIS I
Also known as the Computer-Based PPST Test, a test of basic reading, writing, and mathematics skills for K-12 teachers at the program-entry level. Website: www.ets.org/praxis.
Cost: $130
Where: USU Testing Services, University Inn 115.
When: Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays, by appointment.
Scores: Mailed approximately 15 days after test date.
Note: Student ID card is not sufficient identification-requires driver's license, state ID, passport, etc. Be aware that there are occasional exceptions to these dates and times. Also, testing schedules often fill to capacity, so an advance appointment is required to ensure a seat. Walk-in testing is allowed but will not guarantee a spot.

PRAXIS II Exams
Content-area proficiency and certification exams in all subject areas of education, also known as the "no-child-left-behind" exams. See your advisor for all information on which exam(s) you may be required to take and when you should take them. Website: www.ets.org/praxis.
Cost: Varies, depending on exam(s) required. See website or information bulletin available in Testing Services, University Inn 115.
Where: Exams are generally held in the east wing of Old Main, but your admission ticket will have exact reporting location and other information.
Scores: Scores will arrive approximately 5 weeks after exam date.
Note: Registration deadlines are 5 weeks in advance of the test date. All registration must be done through the test company either by email or through their website. USU Testing Services cannot register you for Praxis II exams.
