Previous CEA Employee Scholarship Recipients

The 2015-2016 CEA Employee Scholarship is awarded to Sarah Elliott.

Sarah Elliott is honored and fortunate to be the recipient of this scholarship.  She has been working in the Facilities organization at USU for 4 years.  She began in the Customer Service and Key Office in the Spring of 2011 but recently moved to the Lock Shop where she has been working as a Locksmith.

Sarah is a Cache Valley native.  She is currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Health Education while attending USU as a part-time student.  Her number one goals is to inspire, strengthen, and enrich the lives of her three children.  She loves her kids, animals, gardening, hockey, yoga, camping and fishing.

The 2013-2014 CEA Employee Scholarship is awarded to Tina Peck.

Tina Peck currently works for the DRC at the Logan campus and is working on her Masters degree in Social Work.  Tina has been able to maintain a high level of proficiency in her job while taking challenging courses.

The 2012-2013 CEA Employee Scholarship recipients are Dorcee Winward and Denise Irwin.

Dorcee Winward began her USU journey on November 1990 with almost 19 years at Telecommunications. She recently joined the Access & Diversity Center 2 years ago, where working with students has enlightened her on the importance of education. Since Dorcee is a dabbler, last fall she decided to ‘dabble’ by accepting the challenge of going back to school after 23 years. She found this would make her a Non – Traditional Student herself, as she is now mentoring those that walk into her department. Her eyes were closed to the fact that she was the oldest in her class and open to the smiles and fun students. It wasn’t so scary after all and she found enjoyment and appreciation from both the Professor and helpful students. This positive experience encouraged a summer class. Still dabbling of course, Dorcee has enrolled in a fall class with Agriculture Technologies.

Denise Irwin has worked at USU for the University Inn & Conference Center for 51/2 years, starting as the Registration Coordinator and currently as the Business manager.  I am so grateful for the opportunity to receive the CEA Employee Scholarship and for the opportunity that this will give me to pursue my education in Accounting.  My desire to receive an Accounting degree will enhance my current employment and help me achieve my academic goals. Thank you for giving me this opportunity.
