Ownership of Student Works


According to USU Policy 327 on Intellectual Property and Creative Works, USU waives any rights it may have (with some limitations) to acquire and retain rights in the following works created by a student (see 327/1.2(4)):

  • dissertations
  • theses
  • courseware
  • class reports
  • journal articles
  • works of art
  • literary works
  • musical works

This policy also discusses ownership agreements and royalty assignments.
