Using Student Works in Teaching
Because students hold copyright in their own creative works, faculty should be careful to respect student intellectual property, just as they would with any other creative work.
With regard to student research and creative works, the USU Faculty Code stipulates: "Faculty members do not plagiarize the work of students. When faculty members and students work together, appropriate credit is given to the students. Faculty members do not limit or curtail the right of any student to publish or otherwise communicate the result of the student's own independent scholarly activities." See USU Faculty Code section 403.3 (3.1(5)).
