We supply seed samples for research and
educational purposes. To request seed samples, please fill out our
seed request
form. We ask that you submit a short (50-word) proposal
describing your intended use of the seeds. If your proposal is
approved we will provide TWO packets of seed at no cost. Additional
packets are $5 each. Quantity discounts are available for
non-profit, educational institutions. Please
contact us for
details. Our dwarf tomato, pepper, and pea seeds
are recommended for use in classroom settings where light is
limiting. Fixtures with compact fluorescent bulbs and/or fluorescent
tubes placed directly above the plants will provide adequate light
for these cultivars. Our dwarf wheat cultivars do well vegetatively
under fluorescent lights in the classroom, but require a bit more
light for normal seed head production. Our rice and soybean
cultivars are recommended only for use in research settings where
supplemental light levels are closer to those in the field. If you
are a researcher and are interested in these cultivars, please send
your request via
e-mail.We have also conducted research on a number of commercially
available cultivars with compact stature. Among the many, the pepper
cultivar "Fruit Basket" is currently available from from Park Seed
Company, catalog number 5620 (800-845-3366) and is $36 for 250
seeds. For tomatoes, the cultivar "Red Robin" is also a good choice.
This variety is available from Tomato Growers Supply Company, Ft.
Meyers, Florida for $2 per packet. Other vendors may carry stock of
these as well.
We continue to identify and characterize unique
dwarf cultivars of other crop species. We have limited funding for
growing and distributing these unique plants. If you are able to
make a donation to help cover the cost of maintaining and
distributing these seeds please contact
