About This Degree

The Cosmetology program at USU Eastern is the only program in the state of Utah where students receive 100% of their instruction face-to-face with instructors. Students who complete this program are prepared to take the State Board Exam to become a Licensed Cosmetologist.

During the program students gain experience in Cosmetology, Barbering, Nails and  Skincare. Students also prepare a portfolio that they can use as they interview for employment. All graduates of the Cosmetology program are prepared to work in a full service salon

Students may also choose to complete the Nail Technician program in addition to the Cosmetology program. The Nail Technician program requires an additional 300 hours.

With a degree in Cosmetology many jobs will be open to you including:

  • Hairstylist
  • Colorist
  • Nail Technician
  • Educator
  • Make-up Artist

You may choose to work in an independent salon, a spa salon, a national franchise or an independent chain.
