Utah State University Diversity Council
Diversity Council Grant Awards
The Diversity Council Grant Awards program exists to support initiatives across the Utah State University system that align with the goals and objectives of the Utah State University Diversity Council, while supporting the institutional mission as a whole. The funds are designed to support both one-time programming and events, as well as long-term projects, which promote diversity, equity, inclusion, and social justice.
The one-time and long-term grant awards have separate timelines and requirements. To find out more about each, please click on the one that best meets your needs.
All USU faculty, staff, and students are eligible to apply for a Diversity Council Grant Award. Applicants must be currently enrolled or employed at Utah State University. Student organizations wishing to submit a proposal must be officially recognized by USU/SA or an academic unit. Proposals may include partnerships with other university or community groups committed to diversity and inclusion.
One time grants are available throughout the year. The Diversity Council meets every third Thursday of the month; one time applications should be submitted one month and three days prior to the meeting where you hope to gain approval for funds (e.g. if you need funds in March or early April, it is best to turn the application in three days before the Council’s February meeting). The Diversity Council’s meeting schedule is available in the events calendar on the left navigation menu.
Long term grants are available in the spring semester of each academic year for projects starting the summer/fall of the next academic year. Applications are typically released in February, and are typically due in March. Award notification will occur by early June, and funds are available July 1, unless otherwise specified.
