"Promoting diversity as a foundation for building an inclusive and vibrant university community"
To serve as a University-wide group with permanent standing that is actively-engaged in addressing diversity issues across all campuses and centers of Utah State University. The USU Diversity Council is an action-oriented body, rather than one that simply researches and/or identifies issues. The Diversity Council's general charge, along with the priority issues that it is asked to address, is provided to them by the President and/or the Vice President for Student Services.
The Diversity Council reports jointly to the President and the Vice President for Student Services. The Diversity Council provides an end-of-year (June) report on its activities and progress to the President and the Vice President for Student Services.
