Training Information
These are the training classes provided by USU's Emergency Management:
CERT Certification Courses - for those who would like to become CERT certified
CERT Refresher Courses - for CERT Team Members to review and learn new techniques and practices
ICS 100 and NIMS 700 - two courses: a basic introduction to the incident command system and an overview of the National Incident Management System
Work Place Violence/Active Shooter - This is a 30 to 60 minute presentation on what to look for and how to react to hostile/violent situations in the work place. This is an ideal presentation for staff meetings. To schedule a time for the presentation, call USU Police at 435 797-1967 or go to Request Crime Prevention Training.
Ready Your Business - 12 Point Plan - This program helps businesses/departments write their emergency operations plan. It includes a Power Point presentation and is approximately 60 to 90 minutes. Also includes a template for an evacuation plan. The 12 Points include:
- Continuity of authority and creating a planning team
- Risks and hazards
- Internal resources and capabilities
- External resources
- Vulnerability assessment
- Essential business functions
- Human resources: Employee/owner contacts
- Workplace evacuation plans
- Workplace emergency supply kit
- Insurance coverage review
- Vital records
- Data protection/storage/recovery
Department Emergency Operations Plan Classes - These classes are a follow-up to the Ready Your Business -12 Point Plan. These classes help departments write their emergency plans step by step. Class topics will include organizing your department planning team, writing your departmentıs evacuation plan, shelter in-place plan, and lock down procedures.
CPR Classes - Obtain or refresh your CPR Certification.
