Step 1: Getting to the DSO

How do students like Stephen find out about and contact the Disability Service Office on their campus?

In many cases, students with disabilities, especially those with invisible disabilities, don’t know that there are services available for them. In fact, some students who went undiagnosed in high school come to college unaware that they have a disability or that they qualify for services.

In Stephen’s case, one professor listed many of the services provided by the university on his syllabus. On the first day of class, he reviewed the syllabus and specifically pointed out the Disability Service Office (DSO) that works with students to provide accommodations for those who qualify.
