Step 3: Deciding on specific accommodations

As noted previously, accommodations are designed on an individual and course-specific basis. After Deborah enrolled, she met with her DSO counselor to decide on reasonable accommodations she would need for each course. Deborah would need a sign language interpreter and a note-taker. She would also need captioning on video and other media presented in her classes. Deborah took her accommodation letter from her DSO counselor and met with each of her professors. They agreed that these were reasonable accommodations and signed the accommodation letter.
