Hearing impairment/hearing loss

A disability that affects the ability to hear. Hearing impairment as generally used denotes that there are different degrees of hearing loss, which may be mild, moderate or severe. Individuals with hearing impairments may or may not use hearing aids. Though individuals have a hearing loss, they still use auditory means for learning and communication. (See deafness).
