Stephen is currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree in bio-veterinary science. Stephen loves animals and works well with hands-on learning.
Stephen was diagnosed in grade school with a learning disability but successfully transferred into general education in middle school. In high school, Stephen worked twice as hard as most students to compensate for his disability. In addition, he was very involved in extracurricular activities and worked daily on the family farm. By studying hard, Stephen met the requirements to be admitted into a state university.
In college, Stephen has to work harder than other students on the reading and lecture portions of his courses.
Invisible disabilities
Why might a student hesitate to say anything to professors about his/her learning disability?
