About the DSA

History of the DSA

In fall of 2005, Ariel Rosario noticed that a Dominican organization was missing from the many other Latino organizations at Utah State University, so he took it upon himself and others to create and encourage fellow Dominicans to come together and form an organization. The Dominican Student Association was thus founded on September 2005 at Utah State University. The organization began as a way for the Dominican students at USU to come together and socialize. The group has evolved not only as an organization to socialize but also to encourage diversity amongst its members and promote the Dominican culture by activities on campus and the community. D.S.A seeks individuals that are highly motivated to learn, promote, and understand Dominican culture. They encourage and do not discriminate anyone from joining the organization that is not of Dominican background and strive for diversity among members.
