Faculty Associate Criteria

ECOLOGY CENTER ASSOCIATES

QUALIFICATIONS:
    Must do one of the following:
        Be a major professor for a student pursuing the Ecology degree
        Publish articles of an ecological nature in appropriate, peer-reviewed journals
        Teach courses that support the education of EC graduate students
APPLICATION PROCESS:
    Submit a letter of application that contains demonstration that the applicant meets one of the 
        above criteria
    From the letters of application, the EC director will choose those who qualify and will have their 
        membership ratified by a simple majority of the EC Advisory Committee
    Applications submitted, but rejected by the EC Director can be appealed to the EC Advisory 
        Committee
BENEFITS:
    Receive email notice of EC activities, job openings, grant applications, etc.
    May apply for travel funds to help support presentation of papers or posters of an ecological nature at 
        appropriate national meetings
    May apply for page charges for ecological papers in appropriate peer
        reviewed journals
    May use the EC as a cost center for grants and contracts
EXPECTATIONS:
    EC Associates should cite the EC on title slides/poster at meetings and in 
    articles supported in part by the EC.  Ordinarily this is done with the authors address on title pages
