As your constituent, I respectfully request that you become a cosponsor of the America's Redrock Wilderness Act, H.R. 1732/S. 861, to protect 9.1 million acres of Utah's precious BLM wilderness. I also urge that you not accept any half-solutions or partial fixes that avoid the crucial decisions for preservation that must be made.

As Utah grows, the need to set aside large, pristine areas grows immensely. This is crucial to protect the quality of life that we Utahns treasure, and to safeguard the habitats of the plants and animals that we share this planet with. As the pressure to develop these lands increases, the need for a permanent policy of protection that only Wilderness can provide grows ever more acute.

Whether Congress has the wisdom and foresight to permanently protect these lands will determine how our generation is regarded by future generations of Utahns. The choice is ours, and your leadership on the permanent protection of our state's most precious assets is absolutely crucial to its future.
