Allies
Dear Faculty,
In keeping with the University’s mission to provide a climate of safety and acceptance for all of its students, Allies on Campus has been offering seminars to faculty, staff, and students to raise awareness about issues facing the gay, lesbian, bisexual, transgender, queer, questioning, and intersex (GLBTQQI) population here on campus. These free, one-time seminars are designed to train participants to become sensitive and supportive allies to students dealing with sexual orientation or gender identity issues. Seminar participants wishing to become allies display a special ally sticker in their office or workspace, thereby conspicuously identifying a “safe zone” where GLBTQQI students know they are supported. Attached you will find a registration form for our 07-08 seminars. Whether or not you are interested in becoming an ally, we invite you to attend one of these seminars to increase your awareness and sensitivity to the issues facing our GLBTQQI students here at USU.
More information, along with a listing of current allies, can be found at the Allies on Campus website
Sincerely,
