April Showers
Field Trips: "April Showers" rang very
true at our Power Hour Field Trip last month! We attended the
Bear River Festival at the American West Heritage Center and
it really came down. However, those who attended got enough
free stuff that it was worth it!
Cache Valley Mall: Our program at the Mall has gotten
off to a great start! We have had many fun activities, and are
growing in activity. Thanks to the parents and club members
who have supported this new venture thus far!
Summer Registration: This officially began in the month
of April! We have had many sign up and look forward to the many
more who will sign us! Please see your site director for summer
activities and registration.
Opera: Many of our sites had the opportunity to perform
their opera at a Children's Festival at the Ellen Eccles Theater.
This was a great success! Throughout this year many of our sites
have done operas. Each performance was unique and very well
done, it really gave the kids a chance to shine!
Staff of the Month: Congratulations to Liz Hobson and
Jamie Iiams. Liz works both in the office and at Nibley. She
has recently developed a web site for the club. Jamie works
at Willow Valley and Mt. Logan and really goes the extra mile
for the kids and the club!
May Flowers:
Cosmic Bowling: Yes, this exceptional trip will take
place! It will be our last Power Hour field trip for this school
year and it will worth the hard work! We will be going Cosmic
Bowling on the 25th of May from 1:00-2:00 p.m. This trip will
include a pizza party, so work really hard!
Summer Club: We are so excited about our summer program
this year! We will be at FIVE different sites: South Cache,
Providence, Mt. Logan, Summit, and North Cache. We will do many
fun things like weekly field trips, Children's Opera, swimming,
trips to the library, art & crafts, educational enrichment,
clubs, and recreational activities. Please join us! Registration
can take place where your child currently goes to club, by calling
or coming into our office, or during the first week of summer.
Duck Derby: The time for our annual fund raiser is fast
approaching! This event will be held on June 15th and all the
proceeds go directly to programs for our club members. "Adopting"
a duck is $5. Adopt a duck today and support the Boys &
Girls Club of Cache Valley for many days to come!
Upcoming Events: We will continue to do many exciting
activities at the mall from 10:00-1:00 on Saturdays. Join us
for BEADS on the 11th, where will do tons of different and cool
crafts with beads. We would love to see you there!
