The DDE Center welcomes students and is happy to provide opportunities for observation, research, and training.
The DDE Center is a site for students looking to complete practicum experiences in Early Childhood Education, FCHD, Special Education, Family Consumer Sciences, Physical Education, and Nutrition or Dietetics. Flexible schedules are available year around, including summer semester.
We provide practicum students with numerous opportunities to gain hands on experience working with children and families. Practicum students can choose to focus on a specific age group or gain experience with a wide variety of ages. Practicum students can tailor their experience to their career goals. Each practicum student will leave our program with real job skills that will prepare them for their future career choice.

Research at the DDE Center
The DDE Center invites proposals for research from undergraduate and graduate students and other research teams. All research proposals are reviewed and approved by our Executive Director and the research subcommittee of our Advisory Board. Documentation of USU Institutional Review Board (IRB) approval is required for all research, and all researchers with direct contact with children must have an approved background check.
