    RESEARCH INTERESTS

My research interests include home ownership and financial well-being of first time home buyers, first time homebuyers counseling and educational programs, non-traditional mortgages and other housing issues including predatory lending, foreclosures, housing affordability, housing discrimination, and subprime lending.  I am also interested in consumer policy (national and international) and consumer protection, and in Latino families financial well-being.

    TEACHING PHILOSOPHY

I see teaching as a service I provide to my students. I see the classroom as a laboratory, a learning environment where we all learn from each other. My main objective is to facilitate these processes so my students can apply what they have learned in the classroom to their lives.
