How to Declare a Major


Family, Consumer, and Human Development (FCHD) Major Admission Requirements*

  • Completion of at least 24 semester credits (including FCHD 1500, FCHD 2000, and FCHD 2400)
  • Overall cumulative GPA of 3.0 (a cumulative 3.0 GPA is required for graduation as well)
  • A grade of C or better is required in all major coursework including the pre-major courses listed above, and the respective required statistics courses.

Family Life Studies Major Admission Requirements*

Interdisciplinary Studies (ITDS) and General Studies Major Admission Requirements*

While an application is not required for all majors, often a Change of Matriculation form does need to be filled out. All students should contact their academic advisor for assistance with course selection, program planning, and meeting graduation requirements.
