Announcing the
7th North American Forest Ecology Workshop

We are pleased to announce that the 7th North American Forest Ecology Workshop (NAFEW) will take place at Utah State University in Logan, Utah from June 22 to 26, 2009. The Workshop will bring forest ecologists from around the world to share ideas and knowledge on forest ecosystems in North America. The ecological backdrop of the 7th NAFEW will be the arid and alpine forests of North America′s Interior West. The program will feature three days of plenary sessions consisting of invited plenary speakers and volunteer presentations and posters.

Attendees will be able to choose from a variety of half-day field trips in the adjacent Logan Canyon Recreation Area during the conference. Following the technical sessions, attendees may elect to participate in one of several extended field trips within the Central Rocky Mountains and Great Basin. Travel to and from the conference can include world-class scenery and tourist areas within a few hour′s drive of Logan (e.g., southern Utah National Parks and Yellowstone/Grand Teton area).
