Profile A native of Southern California, Kim Hernandez received her B.A. in History, with minors in Humanities and California Studies, at California State University, Northridge. She earned her M.A. in History at the University of California, Los Angeles and expects to earn her Ph.D. in U.S. history at the University of California, Los Angeles, in 2010. She has worked in public history at Los Angeles area museums, including the Autry Institute of the American West, and has taught urban history and social history courses with emphases on labor and working-class studies, social justice movements, immigration and immigration policy, and New Deal Liberalism. Her areas of research interest include working-class migration and working-class culture, the American Southwest, Industrial Relations, and the U.S. Labor Movement. |
