Jessica
Rose Pedro
Robert M. Utley Fellow,
2006-2008
A true nomad, Jessica
has lived in several western states; most recently on the isolated
Northern California coast behind The Redwood Curtain. There she
earned a BA in American History with a minor in American Indian
Education and a BA in Native American Studies from Humboldt State
University. She also completed ITEPP or Indian Teacher Education
Personnel Program. Jessica also earned an AA at Santa Rosa Junior
College in American History with a minor in Native American Studies.
There she gained a deep appreciation for California Indian baskets
while working at the Jesse Peter Museum on the SRJC campus.
Jessica is interested in researching the interactions between ethnic
people in the American West. She is looking forward to her studies
at Utah State and working at the Western Historical Quarterly
as well as exploring the open beauty of Northern Utah.
