Theme Housing Fees

 

A one-time $50 theme housing fee for those participating in Outdoor Adventure or Global Village will be assessed for fall semester. This fee is used for travel, food and supplies.

Cancellation Deadlines

All cancellations need to be submitted in writing either by email, U.S. mail or in person.

 

2017-2018 Academic Year Contract

Prior to May 1 The $200 security/reservation deposit will be refunded.
May 2 to June 15 All students cancelling their contract will forfeit the $200 security/reservation deposit.
June 15 to Aug 25 Student must meet one on the termination reasons listed in the Housing Agreement, otherwise the student is financially obligated for agreement.
After Moving In Student must meet one of the termination reasons listed in the Housing Agreement. Rent fees and meal plan fees (if approved) will be prorated through the date that the student completes the move-out process with Housing & Residence Life staff.

 

2018 Spring Semester Only Contract

Payment Information

 

Payment for tuition, fees and housing occur in one location simply by logging into your USU Banner Access account. Fall housing charges will be posted to Banner in the first week of July. Just as with tuition, residents can choose to pay online with an electronic check (no additional fee added) or with a credit card (a convenience fee is added at the time of transaction).

Residents who will be receiving financial aid or scholarship funds will have that amount allocated to tuition and fees first. Remaining funds will be put towards any housing charges. Please be aware that any past due amounts on your Banner Access account, whether it be Housing or other University charges could prevent you from registering, using your activity card, etc. The Banner Access system only acts as a cashier. You will still need to contact the Housing Office with questions related to Housing charges

 

Winter Break

 

Housing Agreements include winter break at no additional cost. Students who will be staying will need to have their room keys reprogrammed at their Area Office prior to the end of fall semester. Residents not remaining in Housing for spring semester must have completed all move-out requirements by 2:00 p.m. the day after finals end. Students who remain in housing during winter break and then cancel for spring will be charged a per night rate.

 

Amenities

 

Electricity, natural gas, water, sewer and garbage, internet (wired and wireless), cable TV (except Darwin Apts), and free laundry are included. Bedrooms include an extra-long twin bed (36” x 80”), dresser, desk, and desk chair. Private rooms in Blue Square have full size mattresses.

 

Meal Plans

 

Required Meal Plans

Residents living in Mountain View Tower, New Suite-Style Residence Hall, Richards Hall, Bullen Hall and the Living Learning Community are required to have a residential meal plan for the academic year.

Optional Meal Plans

Residents in all other housing buildings other than those listed above are not required to have a meal plan. Please see our dining page for information regarding block meal plans.

 

Important Dates

   
August 19 Move-In Day! Residents check in between 10 a.m. and 10 p.m. Meal plans begin with dinner meal.
August 28 Fall Semester classes being. All residents must be checked in. If you plan to arrive late, please notify Housing & Residence Life.
November 1 Deadline to submit Intent to Vacate form for Spring Semester. $200 late termination fee assessed if submitted after December 1st.
November 22-24 Thanksgiving Break. No classes, all housing remains open. All dining services closed.
December 11-15 Fall Semester finals week.
December 16 End of Fall Semester contract. Residents approved for Spring Semester contract termination must have completed all moveout requirements by 2:00 p.m.
January 6 Spring Semester move-in day! Residents check in between 10 a.m. and 10 p.m. Meal plans begin with dinner meal.
January 8 Spring Semester classes begin. All residents must be checked in. If you plan to arrive late, please notify Housing & Residence Life.
March 5-9 Spring Break. No classes, all housing remains open. Limited dining options available.

May 4 Move-out date for Spring Semester. Residents must be checked out by 10 p.m., unless they have a housing contract for summer semester.
May 5 Move-in Day for Summer Semester. Residents check in between 12 Noon and 8 p.m.
