Tuition Reduction and Auditing Benefit

Eligible employees, their spouse and dependent children are eligible to receive reduced tuition rates. Eligible employees and their spouse may audit courses and only pay for associate course fees.

Eligibility Requirements:

Employees must work at least 75% time in a benefited position. Employee may begin classes 3 months after date of hire, as long as the supervisor approves. Spouse/partner may begin the semester following employee’s hire date, children may use this benefit after the employee has completed 2 years of service. Children are eligible for this benefit until age 26 and unmarried.

Eligible Employee

For undergraduate and graduate classes, complete the paper Application for    Tuition Reduction Form and Student Fee Waiver every semester. Part of this form includes the option to opt out of some or all student fees. By signing the form, the eligible employee is acknowledging that he/she understands that some or all of the tuition reduction benefits may be taxable as wages to the eligible employee. 

Spouse of Eligible Employee

Spouses of eligible employees, both undergraduate and graduate, must fill out the Application for Tuition Reduction Form and Student Fee Waiver every semester. The eligible employee acknowledges that he/she understands that some or all of the tuition reduction benefits may be taxable as wages to the eligible employee.

Eligible Dependents of Eligible Employee

Eligible children of eligible employees, both undergraduate and graduate, must fill out the Application for Tuition Reduction Form and Student Fee Waiver  every semester. The eligible employee acknowledges that he/she understands some or all of the tuition reduction benefits may be taxable as wages to the eligible employee.


Retired Employee or the Spouse/Eligible Child of a Retired Employee

If you are a retired employee or the spouse/eligible child of a retired employee, the automatic program will not work and you will still need to fill out the Application for Tuition Reduction Form and submit it to the Human Resources Department every semester. Retirees and spouses: your Student Fee Waiver form should still be submitted to the Registrar’s Office.
