IELISA Constitution

Article 1: Name, purpose and general statements

Section #1: The official name of this organization shall be the Intensive English Language Institute Student Association (IELISA). The official name of the governing board of this organization shall be the Intensive English Language Institute Student Association Student Advisory Council (IELISA SAC).

Section #2: The association shall operate as a nonprofit organization.

Section #3: The association shall abide by the applicable policies and procedures of ASUSU and the Utah State University Student Code.

Section #4: This association shall exist for the following purposes:

  • To provide a venue for the international students who are enrolled in the Intensive English Language Institute to become a part of the greater university community through intercultural interaction.
  • To schedule and provide activities for the membership. These may include social events and/or service events.
  • To provide a means for communication among students and between students and faculty.
  • To give students an opportunity to take a leadership role in a student organization and to improve their leadership skills.
