Article 2: Membership

Section #1: Voting membership is open to all students, faculty, and staff at Utah State University.

  • Membership is open to all students without regard to race, creed, color, sex, national origin, or disability.
  • Membership by both international students and American students is encouraged

Section #2: No more than 1/3 of the voting membership shall consist of non-students.

The voting membership will include three categories of members, all having an equal vote. The first category is the general membership (including students and faculty who are not in the other two categories). The second are the officers on the IELISA SAC, and the third are the advisor(s) to the IELI Student Association.

Section #3: To become a member, one must either be enrolled in the Intensive English Language Institute, be a faculty member of the Intensive English Language Institute, or be admitted by one of the advisor(s) of the IELI Student Association.
