To apply for these internships, please download the application packet, fill it out, and bring it to Old Main 109, or email it to brandee.halverson@usu.edu. Applications for Spring, 2014 will be accepted through October15, although some internships will be filled before then.

Some internships you must apply for directly through their organization. If this is the case, the description will have direction on how to apply. Please let us know when you apply for these internships. We have connections in many of these offices, and we can make sure they see your application. Note that some of these organizations may have different deadlines.

The Center for American Progress is a think tank which addresses 21st-Century challenges such as energy, national security, economic growth and opportunity, immigration, education and health care. There are many different areas you can intern with including Communications, Economic Policy, Immigration Policy, LGBT issues, National Security Policy and many other. Check out there website to see a full list of areas you can intern in. 

To apply, please complete their application and return it along with a cover letter, resume, writing sample, transcript and two or three references to them by following the instructions at the bottom of the application.

Location: Washington, D.C.

Semesters: Spring, Summer, Fall

Duties:
Duties vary depending on the office you are placed with
Expect to assist in regular office duties
Assist your department in researching projects and developing programs
