The path to D.C. internships is well traveled for Utah students

Leonard M. Blackham is Utah's Commissioner of Agriculture and Food and the president of the National Association of State Departments of Agriculture (NSDA).
The Congressional and Governmental Affairs division of APLU is focused on advocacy and policy development on the federal issues affecting U.S. public higher education. Interns work with the Congressional and Governmental Affairs staff to promote the association's agenda to the federal government.
This Intern works with Tim Stewart, aid to former Senator Bob Bennett, Legislative Director and Chief of Staff for the House Committee on Resources. Tim now specializes in issues affecting western states, such as energy, land development, Native American issues, water and natural resources policy.
Interns for Cache Democrats will help them with projects in Cache Valley to promote Democratic ideals. These projects may include reaching out the Latino community or the LDS community or improving Cache Democrats social media strategy.
The Center for American Progress is a think tank which addresses 21st-Century challenges such as energy, national security, economic growth and opportunity, immigration, education and health care.
The Congressional Coalition on Adoption Institute (CCAI) is a non-profit organization that works to raise awareness about the needs of children without families and to remove policy barriers that hinder children from knowing the love and support a family provides.
The purpose of the Congressional Internship Program (CIP) is to expose young Latinos to the legislative process and to strengthen their professional and leadership skills, ultimately promoting the presence of Latinos on Capitol Hill and in Federal Agencies.
