Satellite

Q: I have a UENSS
Satellite Receiver, and it does not appear to be working. What do I do? |
A: Call the TOC at 435-797-0674. Be prepared
to provide them with information including the receiver's UA number.
Q: What is a UA
number, and what is it for? |
A: UA stands for Unit Authorization. The UA number is a number unique
to each and every satellite receiver, and allows the satellite system
to authorize and deauthorize receivers. Unless the system has your receiver
properly authorized, it will not work.
Q: I have no picture,
and the receiver shows a red alarm light. What do I do? |
A: Call the TOC at 435-797-0674. The alarm light indicates a problem
that could be system related. Occasionally, the transmission system
experiences problems. The TOC will confirm if such a problem exists.
If not, they will work with you to fix your system.

Q: I can hear other
sites, but not the instructor. What is wrong? |
A: Check the switch settings on the AT Products convener box. The silver
toggle switch on the side panel of the box should be in the up position
to receive satellite audio.
Q: It is snowing
heavily. Will the system keep working? |
A. Not unless you get a broom and carefully sweep out the satellite
dish. One half inch or more of snow buildup in the dish will block the
signal. If you have a site with an access problem to dish, call Extension
Technology or the TOC for information on a dish cover. Dish covers can
sometimes help to keep snow off, and are appropriate for rooftop mounted
dishes.

Q: I called the
TOC with a problem, and I get a message that all lines are busy. Should
I hang up and try again? |
A: Stay on the line. If you get that message, the TOC operators are
all busy on the phone assisting other customers with problems. Calls
are answered in order, and they will answer your call as soon as possible.
Q: Is that TOC
operators' name really "Friend"? |
A: Yes, it is. He is still in the process of getting even with his
parents for that one.
