If a student insists on a make-up, it will constitute a breach of the syllabus as described here and will necessitate revising the basis on which the student's final grade is to be determined. This revision will entail returning to a more conventional grading structure in which there are not multiple opportunities for the acquisition of points but only a limited number of exercises (e.g. a comprehensive final and/or a research paper) which will be assessed within a traditional grading structure.
