A Guide to Writing in History and Classics

 

When done well, the choruses of a tragedy are, if nothing else, the surest places to hear what the tragedian is saying. It is generally very hard to ignore fifteen people vocalizing in unison. Furthermore, their song and dance, the way they were originally (and still should be) performed, make them thrilling to watch, and there can be little doubt that in general they carried their weight in performance.
