The same information occurs in Aeschylus' epitaph, a text unfortunately contained within an otherwise unreliable biography. But because the epitaph does not mention Aeschylus as a dramatist at all—a later pseudo-biographer would surely have invented an epitaph for Aeschylus which at least mentioned his playwriting career!—the biography may be credible in this one particular.
