Moreover, the text of the dithyrambs available to us is not expressed principally from the vantage point of any particular individual. More frequently it comes in the form of pure narrative, not driven by or through a character, or, if communicated through a single mouthpiece, often not in one person's own words but through those of some other quoted directly. Again, while not unheard of in later tragedy, this is hardly its habit either, so far as we know.
