The term 'allied health' is used to identify a cluster of health professions (excluding medicine, nursing and a few other occupations) and covers hundreds of occupational titles. Allied health includes such professions as cardiovascular technologists, dental hygienists, diagnostic medical sonographers, opticians, radiologic technologists and many more. Preparing for a Career in Allied Health

Careers in allied health are varied and many, and not all require a bachelor's degree. To learn about the specific requirements for the occupation of your choice, research the profession on the Web and in the library and ask questions of professionals in your chosen field. If you choose to combine your pursuit of an allied health career with studies at USU, your USU advisor can assist you in selecting appropriate courses and, if you choose, a complementary degree program.
