Obituary for Steven Delbert Bair
Ephrata, Washington - Steven Delbert Bair, 22, of Ephrata, passed away on Monday, September 26, 2005 from injuries that were sustained in an automobile accident west of Tremonton, Utah.
Steven was born on December 17, 1982 to Lyle K. and Dixie (Petersen) Bair in Wenatchee, Washington. He attended school in Ephrata, playing football and basketball his freshman year in high school, he graduated from Ephrata High School in 2001.
Steven was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. He served an honorable mission for the church in the Fort Worth, Texas mission in July, 2002 returning in July, 2004. He was currently a freshman at Utah State University in Logan, Utah studying agriculture.
Steven loved horses, especially his Appaloosa, Snickers that he had raised since it was a colt. He worked on the family farm, and before enrolling at USU this fall, he had repaired the family tractor.
He will be remembered by family and friends as a quiet giant.
Steven is survived by parents, Lyle and Dixie Bair of Ephrata; his brothers and sisters, Kaylene Bair of North Logan, Utah, Annette and Jared McCune of Lompoc, California, Laura and Travis Jenkins of Rigby, Idaho, Brent and Rose Bair of Ephrata, Sarah and Jeremy Nash of Highlands Ranch, Colorado, Dean and Jacque Bair of Logan, Utah, and Jennifer Bair of Ephrata; his paternal grandmother, Dorothy Bair of Ephrata; and his maternal grandfather, Delbert Petersen of Ephrata. Sixteen nieces and nephews, along with numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins also survive him.
He was preceded in death by his grandfather and his grandmother.
The family will receive visitors at Scharbach's Columbia Funeral Chapel, 300 G Street S.E., Quincy, Washington on Sunday evening Oct. 2nd from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and on Monday, Oct 3rd in the Relief Society Room at the Ephrata Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints from 10:00 a.m. until 10:45 a.m. Funeral Services will follow at 11:00 a.m. at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, 1301 Division Ave. E., Ephrata, with concluding services and interment following at the Ephrata City Cemetery.
