Curt A. Madsen, 23
History Major
Curt Madsen's family and friends describe him as a well-rounded person who enjoyed history and pigs, trucks and playing the piano, John Wayne movies and singing.
A Payson native, Curt raised prize-winning hogs and once won first place in Utah and third in the nation in a meat-judging competition.
An honor graduate of Payson High School, Curt studied at Snow College before serving an LDS mission in Dallas. He entered Utah State this fall and worked full time as a meat cutter at Sam's Club in Logan. His supervisor, Scott Northridge, says Curt was a well-liked employee and his death has shaken his co-workers.
Curt's mother, Tamra, says he had not yet determined his life's work, but he was thinking about becoming an ag teacher. His friends remember his friendly personality, winning smile and love of life.
