Dusty Fuhriman's mother, Kathy, describes her son as a lifelong learner who wasn't afraid to get his hands dirty. From childhood, he enjoying working in the garden with his mother and helping his father, Scott, at the family's Utah ranch in Pocatello Valley, Box Elder County.
After graduating from Bear River High School in 2001, Dusty earned an auto mechanics certificate from Bridgerland Applied Technology College. He enrolled at USU this past fall and was particularly interested in biofuels and converting agricultural products into energy.
A skilled marksman and an avid angler, Dusty enjoyed the outdoors. His friends and family remember him as witty, friendly and generous.
"He was such a kind, loving person," his mother said. "He would give anyone the shirt off his back."
