About MRC

The Micron Research Center (MRC) was established in the fall of 2007 at Utah State University by a grant from the Micron Technology Foundation Inc. The goal of the MRC is to engage faculty and students from multiple disciplines in cutting edge research connected to high-density integration, such as used in memory designs.  Projects currently underway in the MRC are related to (1) Improving the performance of error correction coding by employing soft decoding, and exploiting possible correlations between noise events; (2) Mapping memory maps to provide physical proximity to microprocessor cores in 3-D integration; (3) Increasing yield in chip manufacturing.    The work involves active teams of faculty, graduate students, and undergraduate students.
