Advising Hours

Monday through Friday, 9:00–11:45 a.m. and 1:00–4:00 p.m.

Here at the OISS we have two immigration advisors to assist you. Depending on the question you have, you may need to schedule an appointment (see below for more information). To schedule an appointment you can either come to our office or call (435)797-1124.

Advising Walk-ins

Advising walk-in information may include questions about immigration status such as

  • Reduced course load
  • On-campus employment
  • Transfers to another school
  • Travel

Advising Appointments

Appointments are required for the following services:

  • OPT application and authorization
  • CPT application and authorization
  • Program extension
  • Authorized vacation semester
  • Change of status
  • Change of major
  • Change of education level
  • Dependent's I-20
  • Economic hardship and off-campus employment
  • Re-issuance of I-20
  • Updating financial status

Non-Advisor Services

Non-advisor services are available from Monday through Friday, 9:00 a.m.–5:00 p.m.

  • Employment Authorization
  • Class Add/Drop Approval
  • Personal Information Changes
  • Letters of invitation for relatives & friends to visit
  • Re-entry letters
  • Travel I-20 signature
