Undergraduate Admission Requirements (Supporting Documents)
Although the supporting documents required for Utah State University admission may vary, those listed below are required for all students. You should submit the supporting documents to the admissions advisor at least four months prior to the semester you wish to start. Please mail the documents to the following address:
International Admissions
Office of International Students & Scholars
TSC 313, 0140 Old Main Hill
Utah State University
Logan, Utah 84322-0140
Below are the fees, documents, and information you need to submit for admission:
-
An international undergraduate application along with a $50.00 application fee—this is a processing fee and cannot be waived. If you apply after the filing deadline (see above) you will need to submit a $15 late fee as well.
-
One official copy of all your transcripts and certificates or certified true copies for each secondary school, college, and university attended. Official English translations must accompany all documents.
-
Evidence of your financial capability to meet the tuition and costs of attending USU (books, housing, etc.). This includes an original affidavit of financial support and an official bank statement—both can be found on the PDF version of the application. The official bank statement must reflect a proof of funds equaling at least $27,644.00. A breakdown of this cost is detailed on the fee schedule for prospective students.
-
Proof of English skills. Undergraduate applicants' English skills are determined by a minimum TOEFL score of 500 (173 on the computerized version), a minimum TOEFL score of 61 on the Internet-Based Test (IBT), a Michigan test score of 80, an IELTS score of 5.0, or by passing level 4 (advanced level) of the Intensive English Language Institute program at Utah State University.
If your score does not meet these requirements, you may apply to the Intensive English Language Institute. After you pass the advanced level test and you have applied for an international undergraduate degree, you may attend regular university classes. Qualified students currently in level 4 (advanced level) of the Intensive English program may take one or more academic courses if approved by the Intensive English staff and their university advisor. Students at any level may audit academic courses with approval of the Intensive English staff.
Transfer verification request form. If you are transferring from another U.S. college or institution, you must submit a transfer verification request form. This form will allow us to issue you a new I-20.
