2014 PARENT & FAMILY WEEKEND

We are pleased to announce this year's Parent and Family Weekend on October 24-25th! Come visit your student on a beautiful fall weekend and participate with them in USU Campus and Academic events Friday as well as exciting athletic events all day Saturday.

Friday, October 24th

9 AM-10 PM Pumpkin Walk: One of Cache Valley's favorite Traditions since 1983 features dozens of displays created from pumpkins by local residents. Admission is free to all and is located at Elk Ridge Park 1050 East 2500 North in North Logan.

10 AM-5 PM USU Art Exhibits: Black Mountain College and Enchanted Modernities: Mysticism, Landscape and the American West. You can learn more about these exhibitions by visiting our website at: www.artmuseum.usu.edu

11 AM-8:00 PM Aggie Marketplace: For Parent and Family weekend guests the regular $9.45 meal is discounted to $7.

3:00 PM USU Women's Soccer vs. UNLV: Cheer on the Aggies at the Chuck and Gloria Bell Soccer Field located at approximately 1400 North and 1100 East.

7-11 PM Logan City Ghost Tour: Experience all new ghost encounters in historic downtown Logan if you dare! Tickets are $9. You can make reservations at www.logandowntown.org

7:30-9 PM USU Library Reception: Enjoy donuts and locally sourced apple cider as you tour USU's Merrill-Cazier Library. Tours will include a look at the robotic book retrieval system, the Hatch room with authentic medieval furnishings, and the skull of famed grizzly bear Old Ephraim.

7:30-9:30 PM USU Symphony Orchestra Concert-Flowing Memories: This event will be held at St. Aquinas Church, 725 S. 250 E. in Hyde Park. Admission for Adults (18+) is $10, Seniors (60+) $8, youth (Age 5-17) $8, and USU students get in FREE.

9:30-11 PM Masquerade Comedy Show: Enjoy Logan's family-friendly improv comedy troupe The Antics as they perform their weekly live show on a Halloween theme at the Dansante Theatre 59 S. 100 W. in Logan. Admission is $5 but they'll let you keep $1 if you come wearing a mask.

 

Saturday, October 25th - Event Times TBA

-Campus Meet and Greet: Make a visit to the David B. Haight Alumni Center to meet university and college administrators, and enjoy some light appetizers.

-Free Youth Clinics taught by USU Student Athletes

-Campus Tours

-Pre-Game Tailgate and Events: Meet at the Romney Stadium Parking Lot for a BBQ before the game! Parents and students both need to pay for the food at the tailgate.

-USU vs. UNLV Football Game: Rodney Stadium- Your student can get into this game for FREE with their student ID card, however they will need to sit in the student section and will be separate from you and your family. If you would like your student to sit with you in the General Admission seating you will need to purchase a ticket for them.

7:00 PM USU vs. LMU Hockey Game: Cheer on our fantastic Hockey team at the Eccles Ice Center 2825 N. 200 E. in North Logan. Tickets can be purchased online here. Admission for Adults is $7, youth $5, and USU students receive a discount.

The Saturday events are To Be Announced (TBA) because we are waiting to hear the official Kick-Off time for the Football game. As soon as the time has been announced we will post the updated event times, although we are expecting a late afternoon or evening kick-time.
