Scholarship Recipients 2010-2011

The Professional Employees Association is pleased to announce the 2010-11 PEA Scholarship Recipients.

Rachel Heiner

I just want to say thanks so much to all the PEA donors.  I have worked as a Business Officer at USU Tooele Regional Campus for two years now and thoroughly enjoy my work here.  I get to work with students that work full-time, raise a family, and still find time to go to school.  It is such an inspiration. Working at a regional campus the opportunities for enrolling in a master’s program is not as abundant as at main campus.  As such, when the Huntsman School of Business decided to offer a Masters in Human Resources through Regional Campuses and Distance Education and I jumped at the opportunity to be part of the first cohort.  I am a single parent to three wonderful girls and being able to pursue my masters degree not only sets an example for my kids, but fulfills a lifelong goal.  This scholarship relieves some of the financial burden of going to school and means so much to me and my family.  Thank you, thank you, thank you so much!  Rachel Hester

PEA Scholarship Donors:  I wish to thank each and every one of you!  I wish I could express adequately what this scholarship means to me and my family.  Even a little assistance goes a long, long way when you have a house full of hungry kids in a terribly trying economic time such as this one.  This scholarship provided by you will have more of an effect than the monetary value of it.  It comes at a perfect time when things may be just as tight as they ever will get for me and my family.  I wish I could better express my gratitude for your help.  Thank you for your kindness!  I will not forget your gift to me and my family.

Shanell Johnson

A big thanks to those who contribute to the PEA Scholarship Fund and have made it possible for me to receive this scholarship!  I cannot express how excited I am to be a recipient of this award.  I am pursuing an MBA through the weekend/ part-time program and will graduate October 2011. I am excited for the opportunities that are ahead of me and the doors that will be opened through furthering my education.  Thanks again PEA for helping me on my journey!!

Shannon Clemens

Thank you to the PEA Scholarship Committee for choosing me as one of the recipients for the 2010-2011 PEA Scholarships.  I am very honored to receive this financial help.  I have been employed as a professional employee at the Utah Water Research Lab for 11 years.  About 3 years ago I started to pursue a Master's in Water Resources Engineering through the Water Program Division here at the UWRL.  I plan to graduate in 2011, and I will continue to work at the UWRL after my degree.  This scholarship will be so helpful with my academic and career goals.  Thank you again!  Shannon Clemens

Bentley Anderson

Dear PEA scholarship donors,I would just like to thank all of those involved with the PEA scholarship. I was really excited for the opportunity I had to apply. As I mentioned in my application I am a newly wed premedical student and have found that with my heavy schedule, it has been hard to work enough to handle all of our expenses as a little family, let alone find enough time to study. This scholarship is going to lighten our load and help us a great deal as we continue our schooling throughout this next year. Thank you so much!  Sincerely, Bentley Anderson

Jared Hyde

Dear PEA Scholarship Committee,   I am so very grateful for being chosen as a recipient of the PEA scholarship this year.  As the son and grandson of USU alumni I am extremely proud to carry on the tradition of receiving a higher education from Utah State University.  Receiving the PEA scholarship will help lighten the financial burden and allow me to more fully focus on earning a degree in Public Health.  I am appreciative for those that have contributed to the scholarship fund that make it possible for students like myself to receive this much needed assistance. Thank you, Jared Hyde

Kaylee Harris

Dear PEA Members,  Thank you. I can't say thank you enough for honoring me with this scholarship, and allowing me to further my academic goals.  I  am majoring in Exercise Science.  Being able to continue my education with your help will allow me to hopefully achieve one of my life goals of becoming a Physical Therapist.  This is indeed an honor and a privelege that you have bestowed on me.  Sincerely, Kaylee Harris

Melinda Ryan

I just wanted to thank you and the PEA donors for choosing me for this scholarship. It will be a tremendous help in my education. Being a student, parent, and employee leaves me with very little time to enjoy my family and life. This will ease some of the stress that I feel financially while being school. It will give me more opportunities to spend time with my son, which is incredibly important to me. He is the reason I do so much, so that I can give him everything he deserves and needs. This money will go to great use and not be wasted. Thank you for giving me this opportunity. With Great Gratitude, Melinda Ryan

Samantha Trippler

Thank you to all the PEA donors for the scholarship I received. The money will go towards paying my tuition as I enter my first year of college at USU. I am very excited to further my education and to know that the PEA donors are helping me do that. Thank you again for the opportunity that employee families have to receive this scholarship.
Sincerely, Samantha Trippler

Victoria Nye

Dear PEA Donors,  Thank you very much to the dedicated Professional employees in this association.  Receiving this scholarship is a blessing, and will help me furthur my education at Utah State University.  I am an English Education major with a minor in Sociology.  My goal is to be a high school english teacher and a counselor.  This will be my second year at USU and I absolutely love the school and the community.  I am very grateful for the gift I have been given and I look forward to being a standout student next semester.
