2011-2012 Recipients

Samantha Egbert

Dear PEA Scholarship Committee and Donors, I would like to personally thank you for choosing me as recipient of the PEA scholarship. I am grateful for the PEA committee and donors for their time, efforts and willingness to serve the students of Utah State University. Receiving this scholarship will help further my education, as I work towards my lifelong goal of becoming a Physician’s Assistant.  This scholarship will allow me to focus more on my school work, and less on the financial aspect. With this scholarship, I will also be able to focus more of my time better serving my fellow students, through my involvement opportunities. I am thankful for this amazing organization, and your willingness to support myself and many other students at Utah State University. Thank you again!


Samantha Graham

Thank you so much for this great scholarship! I am currently preparing to attend an internship in Uganda, Africa for the entire summer. I will not be paid during these next three months while I am interning over in Africa. This scholarship will greatly help ease the financial burdens I face for next year's tuition. It will enable me to carry on with work, academics, and extra-curriculars as normal when I return to Utah. Thank you for selecting me for this great honor!





Trent Hunsaker

I would like to personally thank the PEA Scholarship Donors for helping me to continue my education. I love Utah State. My parents met at USU over 40 years ago. Growing up in Wyoming, I loved hearing stories about Old Main, Aggie Football, and the Quad. Now, I am an Aggie, helping to continue the traditions of my parents and the many alum who stand behind the Aggie Blue and Fighting White. This scholarship will help me to not only further my schooling, but it will help to better my skills as a communicator for the university. Thank you all, and I can’t wait to repay the favor.

Tony Kusbach

I am honored to receive a scholarship from the Professional Employees Association of Utah State University for the 2011-2012 school year. This scholarship will allow me to continue my studies next spring in the College of Natural Resources (CNR).

I am an international student majoring in physical Geography and, therefore, any financial helps me towards my goal – graduation.  During my career at USU, I have had many opportunities to be involved in CNR at Utah State University such as graduate research in Ecosystem Classification, or working as a field technician. For the next summer, I am excited to work field work with one of the CNR faculty in the Abajo Mountains, UT. I hope that this experience will, other than money support, be a great opportunity to meet new people and learn something new.

Additionally, I am closely involved with International Student Council at USU, which is the biggest organization that represents foreign students on campus. This year, I am occupying a position of the Sport and Recreation chairperson.

I appreciate your support as I complete my bachelor’s degree and embark on an exciting career. Thank you!

Jessica Olson

I want to sincerely thank all of those who contribute to the PEA scholarship fund.  I am an academic advisor in University Advising and am currently pursuing a doctorate in Family and Human Development.  I hope to complete my dissertation and graduate within the year.  As I near the end of my degree, money has become increasingly tight.  Thisscholarship from PEA is a tremendous blessing and comes at a perfect time.  Thank you all for your support; it is greatly appreciated.

Thanks so much to the PEA organization! It is truly an honor to be selected for this scholarship. Also, thank you to the many donors who make this opportunity possible! I cannot adequately express my gratitude for your kindness, generosity, and support. I am so excited to begin my new adventure as a graduate student! I am perusing a Masters in Professional School Counseling Education. I have a deep passion for education and I hope to instill that passion in others.
