In
World War II, German forces were able to communicate in secret code using a
special cipher machine aptly named the Enigma. Capable of transmitting
encrypted messages with millions of numeric permutations, the Nazis could
coordinate multiple-front offensives with the element of surprise on their
side. On several occasions, allied forces unsuccessfully attempted to steal
the Enigma to intercept and translate these secret codes. Finally, the
British military assembled an elite group of special forces to go behind
enemy lines and infiltrate the factory where the Enigma was made.
Steven O'Rourke (Matt
LeBlanc, TV's Friends) is a an American OSS Agent-aka "Special Agent Almost"
due to his inability to actually complete a mission-with his own set of
rules. O'Rourke is called to lead a mismatched team of British solders into
the heart of Nazi Germany to infiltrate H20, the Nazi Enigma factory.
There's only one problem: the factory is staffed exclusively by women. So
the only way for O'Rourke and his team to infiltrate is to go undercover
disguised as women. Tony Parker (Eddie Izzard, Velvet Goldmine), a British
solder moonlighting as a lounge singing drag queen, and Archie (James Cosmo,
Braveheart), a British Army administrative clerk, are teamed up with
O'Rourke to break into the factory and steal an Enigma. But first Parker
must transform the soldiers into women and O'Rourke must transform his
motley crew into commandos.
Once behind enemy lines, the team meets up with their
contact Romy (Nicolette Krebitz, Bandits), a German double agent posing as a
librarian. O'Rourke is quite taken by the German beauty but finds himself at
a disadvantage romancing her while wearing a dress. After a series of
run-ins with Nazi forces, the team evades capture and manages to steal an
Enigma. Now the only thing left to do is get out of Germany alive.
