Laughing Matters is a touching documentary that celebrates four courageous lesbian comics, talented women who have made seriously funny contributions to modern culture. Kate Clinton, Marga Gomez, Karen Williams, and Suzanne Westenhoefer have followed their hearts as performers, forging a path for other queer comedians.

Directors Meyerson and Rosenblum take us behind the stage, offering rare glimpses of the personalities, revealing why each woman chose to come out on stage, telling hilarious stories and interesting facts about what it was like to declare her homosexuality before it was fashionable to do so. They also discuss their upbringing, struggles, and triumphs as openly lesbian entertainers -- stories equally deserving of the spotlight.
