Class, Reading, and Testing Schedule

Note that all lectures are given under the assumption that you have read the assigned chapter, studied your hard copy and internet learning resources, and read the notes before the lecture. Please be aware that we're not covering all of the chapters, but that should not be a problem. Remember, too, that you should print off the lecture notes in advance and bring these with you to class. Having these hard copies with you are a great resource and you can take further handwritten notes on those copies. I wouldn't print them off too early, since I'm always updating them. Set your browser to a smaller font size; please double-check the page setup.

This schedule is subject to change since classes vary from semester to semester in terms of the pace at which we go through the material. In addition, there are times that Tamara may be called out of town for research or service, meaning that another person may have to replace her. This is just part-and-parcel of a university professor's duties. However, I am only an e-mail message or phone call away!

Pay attention to when tests are scheduled! Also remember that you will receive pop quizzes in the class for extra credit (which cannot be made up if you miss them).

See your textbook's website for the "Thinking Critically Exercises" and "Evaluating Research" topics. You pick ONE of these for each of FOUR chapters (any chapter is game). All four of these are due no later than Oct. 13th. Refer to the course description for further important reminders about these extra credit assignments.
