Dr. Michael Twohig publishes a series of books on Acceptance and Commitment Therapy in 2008.
Dr. Michael Twohig recently published a series of books on the use of Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT). Released in May, 2008, ACT verbatim for depression and anxiety: Annotated transcripts for leaning Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (with Steven Hayes) aims to teach clinicians how to implement ACT. Dr. Twohig also coauthored (with Douglas Woods) two books on the use of ACT and behavior therapy for the treatment of Trichotillomania (clinical hair pulling).
Released in March, 2008 Trichotillomania: An ACT enhanced behavior therapy approach--Therapist guide is a 10 session treatment manual that clinicians may follow when working with clients with Trichotillomania. A corresponding client workbook may be used in conjunction with the therapist guide.

Behavior Analysis Graduates Accept Postdoctoral Positions at Columbia University
After earning their Ph.D.s this spring in the Behavior Analysis Emphasis area of the Experimental and Applied Psychological Science program, Corina Jimenez-Gomez, Chris Podlesnik, and Ryan Ward are off to excellent postdoctoral positions. Corina and Chris will be going to the University of Michigan Department of Pharmacology where they will be working with Dr's. James Woods and Gail Winger. Ryan will be going to the Psychology Department at Columbia University where he will be working with Dr. Peter Balsam. Congratulations on excellent post-docs!

Congratulations to Daniel Hatch!
Daniel L. Hatch has recently accepted a tenure-track assistant professor position with the Department of Psychology and Sociology at North Georgia College & State University. North Georgia College & State University is a coeducational state university emphasizing strong liberal arts, as well as pre-professional, professional, and graduate programs. Daniel is scheduled to complete the Combined Clinical, Counseling, and School psychology doctoral program in summer 2008, and will begin his work in Georgia in August 2008.

This year, the clinical, counseling and school combined PHD program is sending 6 students off to excellent pre-doctoral internship sites. Melissa Donovick, Jenna Glover, Kyle Hancock, Sara Hunt, Mark Jesinoski, and Mary Lamont all secured excellent internship sites in a very competitive "match" process. Our students will be spread far and wide this next year. Mark Jesinoski and Melissa Donovick will be enjoying sunny California at UC-San Diego's Counseling Center and University of Southern California Children's Hospital, respectively. Mary Lamont and Jenna Glover will be heading east for the Nebraska Internship Consortium and the University of Tennessee, respectively. Another of our students will be heading to Canada this year with Sara Hunt working at Bloorview Kids Rehab in Toronto. Finally, Kyle Hancock will be staying closer to home at Primary Children's Medical Center. Congratulations to this year's class!
