Gretchen Gimpel Peacock is an Associate Professor of Psychology at Utah State University where she coordinates the NASP-approved specialist-level program in School Psychology, and is on the program faculty of the Combined Psychology (School/Clinical/Counseling) APA-accredited Ph.D. program. She received her Ph.D. in School Psychology from the University of South Carolina in 1995. Dr. Peacock is a licensed psychologist and has her school psychologist educator license. She teaches core child therapy and assessment courses for the psychology graduate students. In addition, she teaches the introductory school psychology course and is the faculty internship supervisor for the school psychology students. Dr. Peacock also supervises many of the graduate students who provide services in the department’s community clinic. She was the project director of an ongoing treatment study of children with ADHD and their families for a number of years. Dr. Peacock’s publications and professional presentations are in the area of child behavior problems and family issues as related to child behaviors. She is the co-author of three books, including School Psychology for the 21st Century (2006, Guilford with Kenneth W. Merrell and Ruth A. Ervin), Emotional and Behavioral Problems of Young Children: Effective Interventions in the Preschool and Kindergarten Years (2003, Guilford, with Melissa L. Holland), and Social Skills of Children and Adolescents: Conceptualization, Assessment, Treatment (1998, Erlbaum, with Kenneth W. Merrell). She is also the co-author of the ADHD Symptoms Rating Scale (2001, Wide Range, with Melissa L. Holland and Kenneth W. Merrell), a parent and teacher rating scale for evaluating children and adolescents who have symptoms of attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder. Dr. Peacock currently serves on the editorial advisory boards of the Journal of Psychoeducational Assessment, Psychology in the Schools, and Journal of Evidence Based Practice for Schools
Research interests include behavior disorders in children and parenting.
